A fundraiser is planned later this month for a Columbia Falls businessman who recently had a heart attack.

On Nov. 29, Jeff Chase complained to his wife Lynn that he was having chest pains while the two were at their Back In Time antique shop on Nucleus Avenue.

Lynn said she left the store for a short time to set up some signs, and when she returned, Jeff's pain had intensified. He took three aspirin, and they called for an ambulance.

The 55-year-old was having a heart attack, it turned out, and doctors later found he had 95 percent blockage in one of his arteries. Surgery was performed to install stints in his artery, and Chase is now recovering, but the family is struggling to pay expenses.

An auction, raffle, spaghetti dinner and concert to raise money for Chase is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the basement of the Kalispell Eagles Club.

The Moran Sisters and other musicians will perform at the event.
