The North Fork man charged last fall with three counts of felony sexual abuse of children has a new lawyer and will be back in court in May.

Ted Ramon, 53, faces up to 300 years in prison and a fine of up to $150,000 if convicted of all three felony charges. He would not be eligible for parole until he serves at least 25 years.

The charges relate to incidents between June 1, 2009, and July 18, 2011, and involve a girl who was eight to 10 years old at the time.

Ramon pleaded not guilty in Flathead County District Court on Nov. 23. Eight days later, Ramon and his wife used the 36 acres of land they own just north of Polebridge to post his $50,000 bond.

The land was appraised at $116,204. It surrounds a four-acre parcel with a cabin where the alleged victim had been living.

Whitefish attorney Jack Quatman took over Ramon’s defense on Jan. 10. Flathead County District Court Judge Stewart Stadler set Ramon’s omnibus hearing for May 9.
