No solutions

| February 15, 2012 6:38 AM

These days many say Republican politicians live in a bubble, a fantasy world of groupthink where all believe and speak exactly the same.

All GOP candidates must sign pledges to never ever raise taxes, especially on the rich, be always strongly anti-government, make more pledges to extremist special-interest groups like the Tea Party, never respect science and other fact-based information (no to global warming and evolution), and then line-up to kowtow and kiss the rings of such kingmakers as Trump and DeMint.

This terrible GOP dilemma was candidly revealed in the Hungry Horse News on Jan. 25 wherein House Republican Jerry O'Neil described how you can't think for yourself, nor brainstorm real-world solutions, when sealed up in the bubble by the web of mandatory pledges and promises all Republican candidates for office must make in advance.

Voters should be truly outraged that their shameful GOP elected "representatives" really aren't - instead they are the agents of Grover Norquist, extremist fringe groups and the special interests of corporations and the super-rich.

We've seen in the last three years that our GOP "representatives," always parroting the same policies and answers, have in every way possible obstructed effective government at all levels, seriously affecting the security and well-being of all Americans.

We expect, need and should demand a whole lot more from the Republican Party.
