Laurel Lam

Laurel Elaine Lam, 72, died July 31, 2012, in Casa Grande, Ariz.

Elaine was born May 28, 1940, in Ronan to Earle and Gertrude Hollingsworth.

In 1948, the family moved to the new town of Martin City. Elaine graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1958 and attended college in Billings and Missoula. She graduated with a degree in education and began teaching with the Department of Defense schools, first in Okinawa, then Baumholder, Germany.

Elaine returned to school to become an interior designer and worked for several years in Georgia, Hawaii and California.

After retiring, Elaine moved to Casa Grande, Ariz., and spent the next several years traveling. She visited China, Egypt and Greece with friends and spent summers in Montana with family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Janet Grilley.

Survivors include a daughter, Kavis Rempel, of Fort Irwin, Calif.; three grandchildren; and brother-in-law Richard Grilley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
