A Martin City couple lost all their belongings in a house fire Monday, Aug. 20. Dennis and Danielle Harvey said the cause of the fire is suspected to be electrical in nature.

The fire broke out Monday afternoon, fully engulfing the manufactured home on Third Avenue South. The Harveys, who own the property, weren’t home at the time. Dennis said they lost just about everything, but no one was injured. They have several dogs and some chickens that were not lost in the fire.

Dennis said an American flag that was his father’s from World War II burned up in the blaze, and Danielle said she lost her King James Bible with all her notes in it.

The house was insured, Dennis said, and they’ve already received help from the Red Cross. They were staying at a neighbor’s house temporarily.

“Everyone has been great,” Dennis said.

The couple is looking for a camper to live in while they rebuild. Anyone who can help is asked to call 892-0488.
