Wounded Warriors auction

A live auction will be held at the North Valley Eagles, in Columbia Falls, on Saturday, Aug. 11, beginning at 4 p.m. to benefit Montana Wounded Warriors and North Valley Search and Rescue. A large variety of items donated by local businesses and residents will be auctioned, including artwork, outdoor recreation equipment, guided trips, lodging and entertainment packages, firewood and gift certificates. Concert series

The Columbia Falls Lions Club Concert series will wrap up Thursday, Aug. 9, with a doubleheader concert by the Maw Brothers at 6:30 p.m. and Brass Werks at 7:30 p.m. Brass Werks will feature “Back to Basie” tunes, including “Matador,” “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” and “Homage to Glenn (Miller).” The one-hour concerts are held weekly at the Don Lawrence Amphitheater in Marantette Park, in Columbia Falls. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are requested. The audience is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

Harp concert

A free, inspirational and relaxing harp concert will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 401 Seventh Street West, in Columbia Falls, on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. The Heavenly Harp duo, featuring harpists Karin and Joy Gunderson, from Phoenix, Ariz., will be accompanied with flute and vocals.

C-Falls women connection

The Columbia Falls Women’s Connection, affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries, will hold a luncheon at Teakettle Community Hall, 235 Nucleus Avenue, in Columbia Falls, on Wednesday, Aug. 15, starting at 11:30 a.m. The Lighthouse Christian Home will share their mission. Celtic music

Willson & McKee, a nationally touring duo specializing in original as well as traditional Irish and Scottish acoustic music, will perform at the Montana House in Apgar Village in Glacier National Park on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 17 and 18, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, but seating is limited and reservations are needed by calling 888-5393 or by e-mailing 1960mthouse@qwestoffice.net.

Trail donation

The Plum Creek Foundation recently contributed $5,000 to the Gateway to Glacier Trail organization for construction of an 8-mile long paved walking and biking path connecting Coram to West Glacier. The nonprofit organization has committed to raising $104,000, or 13 percent of the total $800,000 construction cost. The trail ultimately will link Glaicier National Park, West Glacier, Coram, Hungry Horse and Martin City to other trails in Flathead Valley.
