The Flathead Rapids premier soccer team will host a college and semi-pro soccer showcase Saturday, April 21 at Smith Fields in Whitefish.

The event will feature the University of Lethbridge, the University of Great Falls and the Rapids playing in three exhibition games starting at 10 a.m.

Event organizer O’Brien Byrd says the showcase will give prep players a chance to meet with college coaches and discuss the recruiting process.

“Kids looking to get to the next level can and come and get some really good advice,” Byrd said.

Great Falls head coach Paul Zazenski and Lethbridge head coach Randy Bardock will be in attendance.

As for the games, “It will be the highest level of soccer in the history of Northwest Montana,” Byrd said.

The Rapids play Lethbridge at 10 a.m., Lethbridge and Great Falls play at 1:30 p.m., then the Rapids play Great Falls at 5 p.m.

Players in the Rapids soccer academy will walk players on to the field for warm ups.

“It’s going to be a spectacle,” Byrd said.
