Challenge Academy

Two local youths recently graduated from the Montana Youth Challenge Academy, a 17 1/2 month long program at the University of Montana-Western in Dillon designed to help youths ages 16-19 to develop academic and physical skills. They are Teal Jurries, a platoon supply sergeant from Columbia Falls, and Tyler Coyle, a platoon sergeant from Hungry Horse.

Metals class

Rod Cogliati will teach a 10-session Adult Metal Class at the Columbia Falls High School from Oct. 7 through Dec. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The class will cover safety, beginning brazing, stick welding and aluminum foundry. Cost is $100. To register, call Robin White at 892-6501.
