For precipitation, this year was normal

Despite a long winter and wet spring, the water year in 2010-2011 wasn't that far from normal.

The water year is measured from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. Precipitation for this past year was 14.13 inches, which is just 0.73 inches above normal.

September was a dry month - just 0.27 inches of rain fell. Normally September sees 1.17 inches. August was also dry, with just 0.31 inches of rain. A normal August sees 1.19 inches of rain.

Snowfall for the water year was 42.9 inches, measured at Glacier Park International Airport.
