Verona Barger

Verona Irene Barger, 92, of Columbia Falls, died after a long illness on Nov. 4, 2011. Verona was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Knob Noster, Mo., to Jessie and Ollie (Carpenter) Hyatt.

She graduated from high school in Howard, S.D. She married Samuel Wells Barger on Aug. 6, 1939, in Billings. They later served the Assemblies of God's International Correspondence Institute in Brussels, Belgium, for two years. Before moving to Columbia Falls, they also lived in Hungry Horse.

Verona is survived by her husband Samuel; daughters Valaura Steele and husband David, of Lacey, Wash., Orlynda Goodman and husband Bob, of Columbia Falls, LaDonna Richardson and husband Rod, of Terrabonne, Ore., and Sonja Barger, of Beaverton, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Delores Anderson and husband Leland, of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2012.
