Winter’s wandering down to the valley has the Bigfork Elves busying for the big celebration.

These holiday helpers will be gathering Saturday, Nov. 12 to collect the trees used to decorate the village for the holiday season and to service the light strings.

Those wishing to help should report to breakfast at the Flathead Lake Lodge at 8 a.m., with tree-cutting and bulb-checking beginning at 8:45 a.m.

Trucks of all sizes are needed, along with chainsaws and axes. Kids are welcome to join the fun. The job will get done no matter what Old Man Winter has in store.

The annual Bigfork Elves community decorating day is slated for Nov. 19. Elves and their helpers will gather at the Bigfork Inn at 8 a.m. to prepare to decorate and enjoy sweet rolls, coffee and hot chocolate. Decorating will begin at 8:30 a.m. A chili lunch will be served at the Bigfork Inn at 1:30 p.m.

Contributions to the Bigfork Elves can be sent to the Bigfork Elves bank account at Flathead Bank, PO Box 308, Bigfork, MT 59911. The Elves are hoping to replace old lights and add new decorations. All donations are tax deductible.
