A new soccer showcase featuring the best prep players in the Flathead Valley is slated for Nov. 4 at Memorial Park in Whitefish. Organizer O'Brien Byrd is calling it an all-star game for the local soccer community.

"It's going to be a celebration of good soccer," he said.

The boys and girls teams will feature players from each of the valley's high schools, including Class A and AA teams.

Players will be selected from Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Flathead, Glacier, Libby, Polson, Stillwater Christian and Whitefish high schools.

Selected players must be seniors who have earned All-Conference or All-State honors or have been honorably mentioned by a coach. Each team will have up to 18 players.

Playing for Columbia Falls are girls Cedar Jordt, McKenzie Kiser, Cortney White, Madison Sandefer, Julia Burgi, Elyse Gordon and boys Dylan Corbett, Alex VanHorn and Kevin Shea.

The girls all-star game will start at 4 p.m., and the boys will start at 5:30 p.m.

Following the two games, the premier level Flathead Rapids soccer club will take on the Green Monarchs from Sandpoint, Idaho, in the inaugural Valley Cup at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the games are $5 adults, $10 family pass or free for kids 12-and-under.
