Lady Dogs No. 2 seed heading into tourney

The Lady Bulldogs wrapped up second

place in Northwestern A league with a win 3-1 win Oct. 28 against

Libby. With the victory Whitefish heads to the divisional

tournament as the No. 2 seed.

Senior Abby Strellnauer and freshman

Emily Sullivan tallied 27 kills at the net to lead the offense.

Whitefish had 43 kills in the match. Bekah Weaver scooped 15 digs

and Taylor Havens set up 40 assists.

The Bulldogs finished the regular

season 6-7 overall and 6-2 in the league, with their only two

losses coming against Polson. The Lady Pirates are the No. 1 seed

in the tournament. Libby is the No. 3 seed followed by Frenchtown

and Columbia Falls.

The divisional tournament this year is

Nov. 4-5 at Whitefish High School. The top two teams earn a ticket

to the state tournament in Bozeman set for Nov. 10-11. Whitefish

finished in second place at the divisional tournament last year and

was bounced from the state tournament after consecutive 3-0 losses

to Billings Central and Dillon.

Whitefish faces Libby at 1 p.m. on

Friday in their first game at the divisional tournament.
