Sarah Scott, the junior varsity

volleyball coach at Whitefish High School for the past two years,

has been hired as head coach of the Bulldogs program.

Scott replaces Jackie Fuller, who

resigned last month after 19 successful seasons at WHS and five

Class A state championships.

Fuller, the activities director and

assistant principal at WHS, made the announcement.

“Scott has high expectations for the

team and is very excited for the opportunity to work with the

strong and committed group of girls returning next year,” Fuller

said in a press release.

Scott is a 2000 graduate of Coeur

d’Alene High School. She played volleyball for Westmont College in

Santa Barbara, Calif., helping the Warriors advance to two NAIA

national tournaments.

Scott graduated with a B.A. in

sociology from Westmont in 2004.

She completed her teaching

certification at University of Montana Western.

While attending Western, Scott coached

the freshman volleyball team at Butte High School.

Scott has been teaching in the

Whitefish school district for three years.

“I respect what Jackie did with the

program so much,” Scott said. “I’ve got a lot of support from the

kids and the community already.

“The kids are very committed and really

love the sport. I’m very happy for the chance to continue working

with the program.”
