Student to blog about overseas trip

| March 24, 2011 7:00 AM

Through a blog residents can follow a

Bigfork High School student as she and her classmates travel to

Spain, Portugal and Morocco for 12 days.

As part of a partnership with the

Bigfork Eagle, junior Amber McDaniel, a student journalist for the

Norse Code, will be recording the trip through regular posts at

http://dinterlake.com/vikings_log. Residents can visit the site to

read up on the progress and what students are learning on the

12-day trip organized by the high school’s book club and Spanish

club.

Fourteen people will be going on the

trip including eight Bigfork students and four students from

Hamilton. They will be joined by teacher Charlie Appleby and

Hamilton teacher Hauna Trenerry, who previously taught Spanish in

Bigfork.

The group will embark today, March 23.

The group’s first stop will be in Lisbon, Portugal. From there, the

group will take a bus into Spain as well as a boat into Morocco.

They will travel through various cities in Spain until they reach

Barcelona.
