Brass Werks will perform music from Bach to Count Basie at Marantette Park on June 30 beginning at 7 p.m. as part of the Columbia Falls Lions Club's summer concert series. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are suggested. In event of rain, the concert will be held at the St. Richard's Catholic Church, on the U.S. 2 strip.
Boys and Girls Club of Glacier Country will hold their annual benefit auction and boat tour starting at Volunteer Park, in Lakeside, on July 9. There will be live and silent auctions, entertainment and a prime rib dinner. Tickets are $150 per couple, $75 each, and $500 for a table of eight. One hundred percent of the funds will benefit the youth of Flathead Valley. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets or donating to the auction can call Alan Sempf at 261-4232.
The North Fork Land Use Advisory Committee will meet in the Sondreson Community Hall on Saturday, July 2, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be followed by a meeting of the North Fork Landowners Association at 8 p.m. All North Fork landowners are encouraged to attend.
Gov. Brian Schweitzer recently appointed Jack Potter, of Columbia Falls, as a public representative to the Flathead Basin Commission. Potter recently retired as the chief of science and resources management for Glacier National Park.
City officials remind property owners with underground sprinkler systems must have their backflow prevention device tested annually by a certified person. This will help prevent contamination of city drinking water. For more information, call 892-4391.

Flathead County is seeking citizens interested in serving on the Flathead County Museum Board. The five-member board is being re-established and will be responsible for the administration of the county's museum items, collections and creating and maintaining displays in Flathead County Courthouse. Letters of interest should be sent to Flathead County Commissioners Office, 800 South Main, Kalispell MT 59901 by July 25.
Citizens For A Better Flathead will hold their annual meeting at the Museum At Central School, in Kalispell, on Friday, July 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. People are asked to e-mail ideas and images for the meeting's highlight presentation, "Future Shots: A Future By Choice, Not Chance," at citizens@flatheadcitizens.org. First Best Place Task Force will host a talk by Citizens for a Better Flathead executive director Mayre Flowers on "Beyond Recycling to Zero Waste" at Discovery Square in Columbia Falls on Thursday, June 30, at 5:30 p.m. Flowers is the also director of the WasteNot Project, a cooperative effort between Flathead County Solid Waste District, Flathead Valley Community College and Citizens for a Better Flathead. The project promotes recycling and waste reduction through educational outreach and collection events in Flathead County.
The Columbia Falls High School Class of 1961 will celebrate their 50th reunion during Heritage Days on July 29-31. The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help out with its Heritage Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 29-30. This is the chamber's major fundraiser and has raised more than $3,000. Volunteers are needed to set up the courts and monitor the games. The Wildcat Athletic Endowment Association will hold its annual auction and barbecue behind the Columbia Bar & Grill on Friday, July 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The golf scramble will take place at the Glacier View Golf Course, in West Glacier, on Sunday, July 31, with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. WAEA is raffling off a 2010 Polaris Sportsman ATV.
