Looking for a good dog?

Whitefish got a little big-city flair

recently when Pinky’s hot dog stand opened on U.S. 93.

The drive-up stand serves hot dogs,

chips, soda pop and homemade ice cream.

“I wanted to try a whole new concept,”

owner Shea Fast explains of opening Pinky’s. “I wanted to serve a

quick and easy lunch.”

Fast is the owner of Cowgirl Coffee

with three locations in the Flathead Valley. When Fast was looking

to fill the Pinky’s building in the parking lot of Naturally Clean

Cleaners she came up with something simple and nostalgic.

“Hot dogs are so all-American,” Fast

said. “People are seeking us out and they say ‘I’ve been looking

for a good dog.’”

Visitors to the stand will notice the

pink lawn chairs out front, the pink retro aprons on the servers

and the brightly decorated interior with pink touches.

A list of dogs available at the stand

include all-beef, polish sausage, chicken spinach mozzarella

sausage and the Philly cheese steak bratwurst. Dogs cost $5 and

come with a choice of toppings including cheddar cheese,

sauerkraut, sliced tomato, onion, banana pepper, jalapeno, dill

pickle, ketchup, mustard, sweet relish and mayonnaise.

Fast’s favorite dog? The Philly cheese

steak brat with mustard, mayonnaise, jalapenos, banana peppers,

onions and cheddar cheese.

The homemade ice cream comes from a

Hutterite colony in Eastern Montana. Flavors include the standards

and a few unique flavors like green chai white chocolate.

During the winter, Fast plans to add

chili dogs and soup to the menu.

Pinky’s is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

everyday.
