Glacier Symphony and Chorale

Congratulations to the Glacier Symphony and Chorale on their recent receipt of a $10,000 grant to support this year’s Amadeus Festival. As director John Zoltek has explained, it will become a “destination festival.”

It is saddening to read that once again the Festival Amadeus events will not be hosted in the Whitefish Middle School auditorium.

While the O’Shaughnessy Center is clearly an excellent venue for the chamber music events, the Whitefish Middle School auditorium is also clearly the better venue for the orchestral concerts, featuring world-class soloists.

Is the Whitefish Middle School auditorium so booked up in the summer months that it cannot be made available to this nationally recognized festival for even two or three days?

I think the community members who have built, raised monies and now support this state-of-the-art venue would like to see its doors flung open to welcome the Festival Amadeus this summer.
