Brent Matthew Brown

Brent Matthew Brown, 38, died Jan. 16, 2011, of complications of diabetes.  Brent was born in Cut Bank on Sept. 29, 1972, to Donald and Margaret (Finley) Brown. 

He spent his early years on the family's farm 28 miles north of Cut Bank on Brown Road at Chalk Butte, and later the family moved to Cut Bank.  He graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1992.

After the death of his parents in 1985, Brent was raised by his grandmother, Lucille Brown. In addition, many special people played large roles in his upbringing including Barbara Cain, Carol Fisher, and the late Ken Dudley.

He was passionate about spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He recently returned to Cut Bank and was very happy reconnecting with old friends.

He is survived by his sister and her husband, Carolyn and Darrol Berkram, of Cut Bank; aunts and uncles Judy Wilson of Great Falls, Gary Lehnerz of Scottsdale, Ariz., Tom and Julie Finley of Chinook, Ron and Barbara  Brown of Coos Bay, Ore., and Stan and Linda Henrickson of Havre. 

A celebration of Brent's life was held at the Cut Bank Moose Lodge on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.  Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
