The Lady Bulldogs soccer team continued to enforce their authority over the league Saturday when they knocked off a feisty Lady Loggers team 3-2.

Libby's Jaime Gilden scored on two of the team's three shot-attempts to keep the Loggers close in a match that was otherwise controlled by Whitefish.

"The score says it was a lot closer than it was," Whitefish coach Erin Morrison said. "We had the ball the whole time."

Whitefish peppered Libby's keeper with 24 shots on goal, while the Loggers only fired off three solid strikes. Still, the 'Dogs didn't lock down the win until Sam Dittman put away a shot from beyond the 18-yard box in the 50th minute.

"It was a beautiful shot," Morrison said of the game-winner.

Gilden opened the match's scoring in the 20th minute, but the 'Dogs quickly countered when sophomore Megan Danczyk hit the net two minutes later off of a corner kick.

Danczyk put Whitefish up 10 minutes later with another goal off a corner kick.

"Megan had a great game," Morrison said. "She saw the net, had space and attacked."

Gilden scored an equalizer in the 41st minute to put the pressure back on Whitefish.

"Jaime can score," Morrison said. "They basically play with a 9-1 formation. She's fast and can cut to the goal. Next time, we have to mark her."

Morrison said her team easily handled the pressure of Gilden's game-tying goal and didn't panic. Only nine minutes later, Dittman connected.

"It was good to see how we would handle getting scored on," Morrison said. "It was a great game for us."

The win improved Whitefish's record to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
