Fill the boot

The Montana Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association would like to thank the generous citizens of Whitefish and the surrounding areas for their incredible support of our Fill the Boot campaign held Aug. 14.

To the Whitefish Fire Department Union 3995, which spent their Saturday raising money for Jerry's Kids, you will never know how much we appreciate your hard work and dedication to all of our families. A big thank you goes out to Subway, Pizza Hut, Safeway and Glacier Bank for their generous donations of food, water and support.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to put your spare change into the firefighters boots as you passed, helping to raise more than $5,800 that will assist more than 500 families throughout Montana.

The money from this event will go towards providing services for our clients and their families with neuromuscular diseases. The MDA assist families with purchasing wheelchairs and leg braces; clinics that are held in Billings, Great Falls and Missoula; support groups and the highlight of our year, summer camp for our "kids' ages 6-17.
