Tuesday night it was all about the Bulldogs for Bigfork athletes.

The volleyball team hosted the Bulldogs from Mission for Homecoming and beat them in four sets. The Bigfork boys and girls soccer teams traveled to Whitefish. The Bulldogs beat the Vikings 7-0 and the Lady Bulldogs beat the Valkyries 11-1.

In volleyball, the Vals took the first set 25-23, but lost the second 25-18 and had to fight back with a 25-23 victory in the third set and 25-20 in the fourth for the win.

The Bigfork soccer teams were not so fortunate. Senior Caitlin Charlebois had the Vals' only goal off of a penalty kick in the 35th minute. The Vikings were unable to score.

The Vikes and Vals soccer teams host Libby on Thursday for their Homecoming game and senior night. The boys will play at 3 p.m. and the girls play at 5 p.m. at Carlyle Johnson Field.

The Bigfork volleyball team has another home match Saturday. The Vals host Superior in a non-conference contest. There will not be a C Squad game, so the junior varsity teams will start things off at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity will play at 6 p.m.Read more about the results of these games in the Oct. 7 print edition of the Bigfork Eagle.
