George Buss

George V. Buss, 55, passed away in Anchor Point, Alaska, on Oct. 3, 2010.

He was born Nov. 29, 1954, in Kansas. He attended schools in Libby, Whitefish and Eureka, and was a member of the 1973 graduating class of Flathead High School in Kalispell.

George lived and worked in the Flathead Valley for many years before moving to Alaska about 15 years ago. He was a charter member and very active in the Men’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 10221, in Anchor Point, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Buss.

He is survived by his mother Victoria Buss Casebolt and grandmother Betty Ertz, both of The Dalles, Ore.; sister Lyn VanWinkle, of Sacramento, Calif.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends from around the country.

His VFW family celebrated George’s life at a memorial service on Oct. 9, 2010, in Anchor Point.
