Bill Gallagher has my strong support for the Montana Public Service Commission. You and I need his help working on the PSC to protect us and our Flathead Electric Cooperative.

Bill Gallagher will bring common sense to our state’s energy policy. Bill understands that the citizens of Montana need reliable and affordable market-based electricity rates to be able to attract the high-paying jobs we need in the Flathead.

As a legislator representing the Flathead, I can tell you that we, as electrical consumers, have a target on our backs when it comes to the energy issues in Helena. The Public Service Commission, as the regulators of Montana utilities (excluding co-ops for now) plays a major role in Montana’s energy policy. The present make-up of the PSC gives extreme environmentalists huge sway to dictate policy.

Make no mistake — it’s our electricity bills, our self-determination and the control of our Flathead Electric Co-op that is at stake. Bill testified and was a strong advocate for private-property rights and market-based solutions during the Legislative session. The Montana Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Bill Gallagher for the PSC.
