Meeting to be held on stormwater

| May 27, 2010 11:00 PM

Bigfork Eagle

The Bigfork Stormwater Advisory Committee will host a public meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 7, on the Grand Drive portion of the Bigfork Stormwater Project.

48 North Civil Engineering Services is nearing completion on design for the this portion of the project. The current engineering assessment as well as an update on the project will be presented. The meeting, which will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, is to collect public comment prior to finalizing construction engineering for Grand Drive. After completing the design, the project will be submitted for bids. It is anticipated to be under construction this fall. Funds are in place for the Grand Drive portion.

According to the tentative work plan, final design work should be completed by July 1. Construction could then start as early as August, so that it could be completed by the end of the year. The plan also calls for public hearings throughout the design work.

After completing design work on Grand, 48 North will proceed with work for River Street and Electric Avenue and look at possible tie ins to Grand. Funding is being pursued for construction of that part.

The full project is anticipated to be at least a three-year project. The next phase will likely be work on Bridge Street South.

Following the meeting, frequently asked questions will be posted on the committee's website at www.bigforksteering.org/bigfork-stormwater-advisory.html.
