Skybridge not attractive

As I watched the The Lodge at Whitefish Lake skybridge go up across Wisconsin Avenue, I thought what a travesty, what a monument to one family's avarice.

I overheard an onlooker comment that the skybridge looked like a railroad boxcar hoisted at a slant over the road.

I'm disappointed in my elected representatives for allowing the variances and in the architectural review board for passing on something so ugly.

Walk along the path and take a look at the vast area that has been devastated for someone to make a buck. I can't imagine what it will be like with high-end motor coaches parked there for months.

It has been so easy for Mr. Averill and his cohorts to ruin the fragile wetlands of Whitefish Lake, and he is now intent upon wreaking even worse havoc on the north shore of Flathead Lake.

Is there no end to the greed of this kind of developer? I urge every concerned citizen to work with the conservation groups trying to save the North Shore from this kind of rampant thoughtless development.
