Sheriff deputy is unrealistic

At a recent public forum, I was stunned to hear Flathead County sheriff candidate Lance Norman declare our U.S. Constitution a "living document." This means he feels it's a fluid document, subject to change and alteration. Outrageous.

I was also stunned to hear him say recently that should he be elected sheriff, he will declare "open season" on our wolf population. I wonder if Mr. Norman has consulted with those who actually have the authority to declare "open season" on our wolf population.

Further, according to his Web site, Mr. Norman believes that as sheriff he would have the authority to amend legislation in regards to the Medical Marijuana Act. Clearly, Lance Norman has no idea of the scope of authority, the job description or the laws that govern the sheriff in the state of Montana. To think Mr. Norman actually believed he possessed the skill-set to run for this position is preposterous.

Sheriff Mike Meehan will get my vote. He has done a good job of keeping our property and us safe. Please join me on June 8 by re-electing Mike Meehan as Flathead County sheriff.
