We want to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of Whitefish for an outstanding team effort in hosting the District 1 Music Festival.

Between April 15 and April 17, nearly 2,000 participants, directors, accompanists and guests walked through our doors at Whitefish Middle School. Sixteen concert bands, four orchestras, 21 choirs, seven jazz bands and hundreds of soloists and small ensembles from nine Montana high schools performed for some of the top adjudicators in the great Northwest.

It was an amazing and well-staffed event, thanks to the volunteer efforts of more than 150 community members, teachers, parents and students. A special thanks to activities director Jackie Fuller, the local Boy Scouts, the Whitefish High School Student Council, Whitefish High School Unified Students, Celebrate Event & Party Rentals, Jay Stagg and district food services staff, North Valley Music School, Whitefish Advocates for Music, our Whitefish school administrators and faculty, district custodial staff, the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce, community piano donors and the city of Whitefish for their roles in this event's success.

Thank you for your sacrifice of time and hard work — we could not have done it without you.
