PAC money

Last week, I ran into my Democrat opponent in downtown Whitefish and he showed me his door hangers that he just received. After reading them, I immediately noticed a glaring error. It stated that he was the only one who was not taking money from 'special interest groups."

I told him that he was not the only one. I, too, have decided not to accept donations from those groups. I asked him to either reprint it or get a black marker and cross out "only." Unfortunately, I found these plastered on every door in my neighborhood near City Beach last Saturday morning without any changes.

I want to correct this error and make sure that the residents of Whitefish know that I stand on my own two feet, have my own mind and want this election to be about ideas — not money and not political games.

This has been a game that has been going on for far too long in Whitefish. It frustrates me because it's the insinuation that I'm incapable of using critical thought and reason to come to a rational conclusion on my own.

I was given a mind. I choose to use it, and it is not for sale. The reason I didn't take this money is so we can stop playing these ridiculous games.

Let's use our own minds to discuss the real issues and find the answers we need to make Montana a great place to live and work.
