During the week of May 3-7, Whitefish High School hosted the first ever drunk driving awareness week. Each day involved different activities to show the dangers of drinking and driving. This was a very involved week, with many people to thank for the success of the week.

I would like to thank the following people: Whitefish school resource officer Clint Peters, Wendy Olson of Flathead County Health, Whitefish High School, Safe Kids Coalition, Whitefish PTA, Kalispell school resource officer, Montana Highway Patrol, Flathead County Sheriff Department, Whitefish Police Depart-ment, Whitefish Fire Department, Columbia Falls Fire Department, Evergreen Fire Department, ALERT, Montana National Guard, Montana Department of Transportation, Whitefish Lake Golf Course, White-fish Parks and Recreation, Stop Underage Drinking in the Flathead, Chris Motichka, Mountain Towing, Oh's Body Shop, high school students who participated in the events, and all the volunteers who donated their time and energy.

If we convinced just one teenager for even just one night to not drink and drive and potentially save a life, we succeeded.
