Phyllis and Carleen Baker

Phyllis Ann Baker passed away Oct. 18, 2008, and Carleen Ann Baker passed away April 13, 2010. Both lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, but considered Columbia Falls, home. They are preceded in death by Eugene Paul Baker, husband and father, Rodney J. Baker and Eugene Richard Baker, sons and brothers.

Phyllis Ann Higgins was born Feb. 14, 1931 in North Dakota. She married Eugene Baker and raised seven children with him. Columbia Falls was her home but after the death of her husband in 1992 sold her home and resided in Salt Lake City with her daughter, Carleen. She has joined, in death, by her two brothers, Donald and David Higgins, and her sister Rosie Goodsell.

Carleen Ann Baker was born Oct. 19, 1957 in Montana. She worked for Salt Lake City Corporation for 28 years and was very well loved and will be missed greatly.

A tree was planted in her memory on the grounds of the Salt Lake City Library. Carleen loved to write poetry and was an avid reader and cook. She graduated Columbia Falls High School in 1976 attended college in Bozeman, and then moved to Salt Lake City.

Although not blessed with her own children she provided the heart of a mother to Daniel, Matthew and Jared.

They are both survived by many friends and family including Robert Baker and Bradley Baker, sons and brothers, both residents of Washington, and Deborah Baker-Norwood and Bruce Baker, daughter/sister and son/brother, residents of Utah.

Phyllis will be reunited with her husband Eugene Paul Baker and Carleen will be buried with her brother Eugene Richard Baker at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls on July 19, 2010.

Although are hearts are broken over our loss, Paradise is richer with them.
