The Whitefish Lake Institute will hold a wine auction with a wine-tasting and auction preview under the tent at The Lodge At Whitefish Lake on Thursday, July 8, from 4-6:30 p.m. and a dinner, raffle and live and silent auctions in The Lodge’s ballroom on Friday, July 9, from 6-10 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit, which is celebrating its fifth year. Flathead Valley Community College Theatre will present “Shout!” in the FVCC Black Box Theatre on July 8 and 9 at 7 p.m., July 10 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., July 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. and July 31 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Called “the hottest new musical in New York,” the mod musical combines the greatest 1960s pop hits and soul ballads from some of the most famous female musical icons, with eye-popping fashions and psychedelic dances. Alpine Theatre Project wil present “Hair” at the Whitefish Middle School auditorium on July 9-31, with shows at 8 p.m. all days except Sunday, which will have 3 p.m. matinees. There are no shows on Mondays. When “Hair” first opened in New York City in 1967, it flipped the theater world upside down with its depiction of 1960s counterculture, with popular songs like “Age of Aquarius,” “Easy to Be Hard,” “Good Morning Starshine,” “Hair” and “Let the Sunshine In.” This production is directed by Betsi Morrison and is recommended for mature audiences only. The Whitefish Moose Lodge, 230 Tenth St. West, will hold a community fundraiser on Friday, July 9, from 4-6 p.m. with an all-you-can-eat spaghetti feed, with salad and breadsticks, for $5.

Glacier Symphony and Chorale will pay tribute to Glacier National Park’s centennial with an outdoor pops concert at the Rebecca Farm Equestrian Center on July 10. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for picnickers, and music will continue until the stars come out. Large tents will accommodate inclement weather. Food, wine and beer will be offered. Families are welcome to bring children to enjoy the expansive grounds. Musical guests will include locals Rob Quist and Jack Gladstone and New Orleans composer and musician Michael Rihner. Works by Beethoven, Aaron Copland, James Horner and two musical premieres celebrating the Park’s 100th anniversary will be performed. Entrance fee is $30 per carload. The Canyon View grade school multi-school reunion will be held at Bohemain Hall, behind Coffee Traders on U.S. 93, on July 10, with tables set up at 11 a.m., dining from 1-4 p.m. Teachers and students who attended Canyon View, Valentine, Halfmoon, La Salle, Birch Grove, Deer Park, Lake Blaine, Olney-Bissell and Helena Flats schools through 1970 are encouraged to attend, as well as their spouses, grandchildren and other relatives. Flathead Audubon will lead a day of high-country birding in Glacier National Park on Saturday, July 10, to see special birds such as boreal chickadees or white-tailed ptarmigans. “Princesses Putting For Par,” the Whitefish Lake Golf Course Ladies Invitational Tournament, will take place on July 12. Registration will be at 7:30 a.m. and golfing will start at 9 a.m. Breakfast will be served between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. Players in the 18-hole individual tournament must have USGA or CGA or comparable handicaps and be members of their local ladies golf association. Cost is $55 and $14 for a cart, including breakfast, lunch, water on the course and prizes. Proceeds will go to Providence Home, a rescue home for Flathead County children.
