The Humane Society, Highway 93, will hold a one-hour volunteer orientation session on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. Volunteers are needed to assist with animal care, community education, reception, foster care, fundraising, mobile adoptions and dog walking. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old or ages 10 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 752-7297.

The First Best Place Task Force and Columbia Falls Trails Committee will have a planning meeting on March 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Glacier Discovery Square. The goal is to promote physical health, increase tourist traffic and support local business through trail development. Those interested are invited to attend.

The Teakettle Quilt Guild is offering free quilting classes. Bring your sewing machine, scissors and thread to make a ribbon table runner with the help of expert quilters. Classes are Tuesdays, March 2 and 9 at 10 a.m. For more information call, Louise Kiser at 892-5391.
