They say nothing lasts forever, and the Bigfork Vikings basketball team's winning-steak is no exception.

The Bigfork boys basketball team lost their final two games of the regular season in as many nights as they fell to Whitefish 49-27 on Friday night and Ronan 62-56 in overtime Saturday.

The Vikes' inability to score cost them both games, as they had two of the lowest scoring games of the season.

In Whitefish, Bigfork scored only seven points in every quarter except the second in which they scored six. Defensively they were able to keep the Bulldogs from racking up too many points, but Whitefish was still able to earn 29 points in the first half and 20 in the second.

Christian Ker was Bigfork's leading scorer with just eight points, Dillon Fraley added five and Keenan Evans was next with four.

Bigfork contended better in Ronan, as they led 30-29 at the half before outscoring their opponents 10-8 in the third. Ronan tied the game up with 13 fourth-quarter points to the Vikes' 10 and sent the game into overtime. The Chiefs kept that momentum going in the overtime period and outscored Bigfork 12-6 for the win.

This time Bigfork had three scorers in the double-digits — Evan Jordt, 13, Christian Ker, 12, and Ian Lorang, 10 — and Lael Richmond added nine.

The Vikes, who were undefeated in district play this season, are headed to the District 7B Tournament in Libby. Their first game is at 3 p.m. on Friday.
