Runners donate 675 lbs. of food
Single-digit temperatures and a steady
snow didn’t stop the nearly 70 runners who came out for the
inaugural Turkey Trot race in Whitefish on Thanksgiving
morning.
The runners altogether donated 675
pounds of food to North Valley Food Bank and roughly $400 in
cash.
Kevin Murphy of Seattle was the top
overall finisher in the 5K race. He posted a 17:26 to edge Patrick
Murphy and Brendan Halpin, both of Missoula. Local runner Vonda
Garcia was the top female runner with a time of 22:06.
