U.S. 93 zoning

Editor's note: This letter was originally addressed to Ian Collins, the Heart of Whitefish representative of the ad hoc committee that studied zoning amendments for the U.S. 93 strip.

Thanks for all your work to stop the zoning change on Highway 93 South. I am delighted with the outcome and want to commend you and all the others who have been to the Whitefish City Council meetings to deter any more drastic changes to our wonderful town.

When the new highway was built a few years ago, we weren't so fortunate in our efforts to have a landscaped boulevard in the center of the four lanes, although the walking/biking paths and right-of-way landscaping provides a welcome addition to the city approach from the south.

We all need to thank the city council for their decision and encourage them to stay firm when future requests are made to change or modify the present zoning.
