The annual SNOW Bus Brewfest will take place at Depot Park on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 2 to 6 p.m. Thirteen microbreweries will be represented and live music will be performed by John Floridis and David Boone. Tickets are $15 in advance available from the Whitefish Mountain Resort at 862-2900 and the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce at 862-3501 or $20 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the free SNOW Bus that takes skiers and snowboarders from the city of Whitefish to the ski resort and village.

North Valley Music School will kick off its first annual Summer Showcase Concert with the Mission Mountain Wood Band on Saturday, Aug. 28. Gates will open at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Outdoor Arena at 5:30 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. Originating in Missoula in the early 1970s, the Mission Mountain Wood Band played in every state in the contiguous U.S. Opening the show at 7 p.m. will be the Rock/Americana band Coaltrain. The Whitefish-based U.S. Troop Fund will hold its third annual bake sale at Army Navy of Whitefish on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special baked goods and homemade chili will be for sale. The local group originally formed in response to requests for supplies by troops in Iraq in 2006 and expanded to aid injured troops arriving at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, and troops in Afghanistan and in a hospital in San Diego. The eighth annual Whitefish Friends and Family Fun Run will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The 5K and 10K events will benefit the Flathead Performance Youth Foundation. Flathead Land Trust will celebrate its 25th anniversary in the pavilion at Rebecca Farm, in Kalispell, on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 6-9 p.m. A buffet dinner catered by the Somers Bay Café will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a brief presentation commemorating some of the land trust’s most noteworthy projects of the past 25 years and a musical concert by local favorites BrassWerks. The 3:22 snack program will hold a sale Aug. 31 and Sept. 1-2 at Four Square Church in Whitefish to help raise funds for the after-school program. They will sell Lucinda pins, including women pins, friendship pins, and small tags for dogs and cats. The sale is slated for 3:22-4 p.m. on all three days.
