Festival flap

Once again, congratulations to John Zoltek, the musicians and the staff of Festival Amadeus. The concerts were terrific.

There was, however, one change this year that somewhat diminished the overall impact of the festival. In previous years, the orchestra concerts were held at the Whitefish Middle School auditorium, possibly the finest concert hall in Montana.

This year they were held in Kalispell. The auditorium in Kalispell is a very fine auditorium, but it is not a new hall in the middle of Whitefish. The middle school auditorium is within walking distance to many great restaurants and nightlife. This is not the case with the hall in Kalispell.

I think it would greatly enhance the reputation and enjoyment of Festival Amadeus if the concerts were returned to the Whitefish Middle School auditorium. There is a certain electricity and excitement in having these concerts in Whitefish, where they belong.
