The Columbia Falls Lions Club meets at 6:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays each month at the Back Room, in the same building as the Nite Owl Restaurant. Contact a Lions Club member for information about joining the organization.

Farmer’s Market in Columbia Falls continues today (Thursday) at Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls. Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m. As many as 60 vendors will offer food, produce and arts and crafts. Lee Zimmerman will be featured on the South Stage. Flip Wilsons perform on the North Stage. Grover and Company Architecture is this week’s market sponsor.

Get the feel of driving a NASCAR automobile Friday, Sept. 11 at NAPA Auto Parts in Columbia Falls from 9 to 5 p.m. There will be time trials in a NASCAR simulator, and the driver who has the best score will receive a special prize — a 1/12 size radio controlled NASCAR racing car. Other prizes will also be awarded.

Live music will be featured on Patriot Day — Friday, Sept. 11 — at Montana Coffee Traders at the Pines, located at 30 9th St. W. in Columbia Falls.Doors open for dinner at 6 p.m., when the music begins. Dinner will be served until 8:30 p.m.

Flathead Citizens for Health- care Reform is holding a rally at Depot Park on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be speakers, music and entertainment.Purpose of the rally is to help explain what healthcare reform is all about and how it will affect each of us. The rally is free and open to all.

Sue Quiring will speak at the Columbia Falls Women’s Connection luncheon Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Center. Her presentation is entitled “Dancing Through Life,” and there will be a ballroom dancing demonstration. Cost of the luncheon is $8.
