The WaveRyders swim club had a strong showing Nov. 21-22 at the Turkey Trot Invitational in Missoula.

The club set 10 new team records, including records in the 50-yard freestyle and the 50 fly, and tallied 43 personal best times.

Bubba Loyda was awarded the high-points award as he placed first in the boys 8-and-under 100-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle, and took second place in five other events.

With 11 team members at the meet, the WaveRyders represent 2 percent of the swimmers and took home 4 percent of the points awarded.

"That means the Ryders were out-swimming the competition," WaveRyder coach Deidre Loyda said.

Grace Collins was the team's "biggest loser" for girls, as she dropped 30.98 seconds of total time off her events. She also scored personal best times in all of her heats.
