LNPC to vote on Eagle's Crest designation Monday

The Lakeside Neighborhood Plan Committee hopes to vote Monday, Nov. 9, on a possible land use designation change for the Lakeside Club, also known as Eagle's Crest.

The Flathead County Commissioners revoked their approval of the preliminary plat for Eagle's Crest Subdivision Phases 5-9 in October at the request of the developer. Some members of the committee wanted to change that area on the land use map to rural residential designation, like most of the rest of the surrounding area.

The initial land use map in the draft Lakeside Neighborhood Plan showed the areas of Eagle's Crest Phases 5-9 with its own designation of mixed suburban since higher densities in that area had already been approved by the commissioners in 2007.

The landowner has requested that the current designation of suburban mixed stay in place.

At the meeting, the committee will hear from the public and consider comments on the designation change. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Lakeside Library.

After the committee votes, the plan, which has undergone revisions over the past month following a session with the Flathead County Planning Board, will go to the Lakeside Community Council for approval. It will be up to the council to send the plan on to the county to start its formal review.
