West Glacier group in Colgate Country Showdown semifinals

Sunshine & the Belton Boys of West Glacier has made the cut and will be one of 25 artists or groups that performs Friday night during the 28th annual Colgate Country Showdown at the Majestic Valley Arena.

The 25 artists or groups were chosen after local competition the last two weekends at the Kalispell Center Mall in America's largest country music talent search.

The Bear 106.3 and HANK 95.9 of Bee Broadcasting are the local sponsors of the Colgate Country Showdown.

Rising country star Katie Armiger will open Friday's show at 7 p.m. Her second album "Believe" includes "Trail of Lies," which fared well on the Billboard country chart.

After Armiger's performance, each of the 25 semifinalists will perform one song. The top 15 from that group advance to the finals at 7 p.m. Saturday at Majestic Valley Arena. In the finals, each artist or group will perform two songs. The winner advances to state competition.Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission cost: adult general admission, $13 at door, $10 advance; child 12 & under/senior general admission, $10 at door, $8 advance; Friday or Saturday VIP floor seating, $20 each day; table of 6, Friday or Saturday, $120.
