Help with skiing

| March 25, 2009 11:00 PM

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Whitefish Community Foundation and the Big Mountain Ski Club for their generous contributions to Muldown’s third- and fourth-grade field trip to Whitefish Mountain Resort this past January.

The Foundation’s donation helps to offset the costs of equipment rentals and lessons, while the ski club assists with transportation costs.

For many students, this was their first chance to learn how to ski or snowboard. This contribution helped make this field trip affordable for the students and helped allow Muldown to continue to participate in this field trip experience in these difficult financial times.

We also appreciate the careful planning and instruction that was provided by Whitefish Mountain Resort, and we hope that we can continue this wonderful program next year. We appreciate the generosity of our community.

No skybridge

Regarding the proposed skybridge at The Lodge At Whitefish Lake, I’ll ask the question everyone wants to ask — why is this pedestrian crossing not going underground?

It is going to be pretty difficult for a skybridge to enhance the environment, but a very good chance it’s going to detract from it.

Having an underpass is a good solution for people (and hopefully some wildlife) and it will save the view corridor.

No skybridge please.

More ski help

I would like to thank Whitefish Mountain Resort for their very generous discounts for military personnel and their families.

Our son-in-law is far from home and his family was here visiting. They had a few wonderful ski days made even more enjoyable by the affordability. Recognition of their sacrifices is greatly appreciated.
