West Shore News

The West Shore News, which has served the West Shore community for 14 years, took a technological leap this week with the launching of the newspaper's Web site, http://www.westshorenewsonline.com.

The site will offer West Shore readers access to the paper's print content, as well as special Web-only features. Among them is a business directory with contact information for businesses along the Lake and a link to Valleywide Classifieds, which are unavailable in the newspaper.

"We're very excited about this new site," said Managing Editor Alex Strickland. "It's been in the works for a long time and will allow us to better serve the West Shore community."

Photo reprints of images in the paper are available for order online and letters to the editor and other inquiries can be submitted via the new site.

Other features found online include an events Valley-wide events calendar and online-only advertising.

"The Web gives us another way to reach West Shore residents, whether they live here year-round or just part-time," Strickland said.

But the print edition of the newspaper will still be worth picking up, said Strickland, thanks to community announcements and advertising specials only available in print.
