WASHINGTON - Georgetown says sophomore guard Omar Wattad is transferring at the end of the semester.

He is the third Hoyas basketball player in the past two years to leave for another school.

Guard Jeremiah Rivers _ son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers _ and center Vernon Macklin left Georgetown last spring.

The 6-foot-5 Wattad averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds this season for Georgetown, which was ranked as high as No. 9 in the AP Top 25 before losing 12 of its last 16 games to finish 16-15.

Less than two weeks after Georgetown lost to Baylor in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament, coach John Thompson III announced junior DaJuan Summers will skip his senior year and enter the NBA draft.
