Orvid Berge

Orvid Karsten Berge, 79, died March 11, 2009, at his home in Whitefish.

Karsten was born July 29, 1929, to Olaf and Naime (Nansen) Berge. He was raised and schooled in the Winger/McIntosh area.

Karsten served in the 2nd Division of the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He owned and operated Berge Store in Winger, Minn., for many years.

The Berges moved to Whitefish in 1969, where he owned several businesses, including Sandra’s Clothing and Babe’s.

Karsten is survived by his wife of 56 years, Arlene “Babe”; children Sandra Berge and husband Kelly Conrad, of Bend, Ore., Erik Berge, of Whitefish, Jon Berge, of Columbus, Ohio, and Naime Berge, of Minnetonka, Minn.; and five grandchildren, AK, Caitlin and Naime Conrad and Max and Grace Stillman.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private, family memorial will be held this summer in Whitefish.

Vohn Grawunder, Sr.

Vohn Lee Grawunder, Sr., 65, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Valley Baptist Medical Center, in Harlingen, Texas.

Vohn lived in Whitefish in 1978.

A memorial service was held on March 9, 2009, at Wesley United Methodist Church, in Harlingen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, the Salvation Army or to Mini Miracles LLC.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
