Patricia Silliker

Patricia A. Boerner Silliker, 84, was called home to her Lord and to the “love of her life”, Art (Red) Boerner, on March 6, 2009, at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish. Surrounded by her four children, and as the rising sun shone on her face, Patricia ended her courageous battle with cancer.

Patricia (Patsy) was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Shelby, where she spent much of her youth. She always loved trips to Glacier Park, where as a young girl she spent many happy summers at Kelly’s Camp. These times were the beginnings of her lifetime love affair with Northwest Montana, even though periods of her life were spent in Germany, Seattle, Wash., Helena and Livingston.

For years, Patricia has been a rallying point here in the Flathead Valley for her children, grandchildren, brother, nieces and nephews. Everyone would descend on her house in Whitefish, where they could base their many fishing and huckleberrying adventures.

For the last 20 years, she spent much of her time traveling the world with her children, creating many treasured memories. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, of Whitefish, and loved visiting with friends and fellow church members.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Linda Borgos and husband John, of St. Paul, Minn., Judy West and husband Jim, of Fort Meade, Fla., and Katie Boerner of Chico, Calif.; son Robert Jones, of Seattle, Wash.; brother Dick Kavanagh and wife Virginia, of Spokane Wash.; grandchildren Heidi McGowen, Jerry Saunders, Jennifer Himmelspach, Dan Borgos, Tom Borgos and Aaron Borgos; and six great grandchildren.

A funeral service took place March 10, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish, with Pastor John Bent officiating. Burial followed at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.

Memorials may be designated to Home Options Hospice of Kalispell or a charity of choice.
