Burt Gewalt

Burt L. Gewalt, 93, of Yachats, Ore., died Feb. 27, 2009, at his home.

Burt designed the Logan Pass and St. Mary visitor centers in Glacier National Park. He designed three buildings in the Park, including the unique visitor centers, while he was with the architecture firm Brinkman Lennon in Kalispell.

The centers and the coffee house at Lake McDonald Lodge have all been named to the National Register of Historic places.

Burt was also a mason and enjoyed water painting.
