The Columbia Falls Lions Club meets at 6:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays each month at the Back Room, in the same building as the Nite Owl Restaurant. Contact a Lions Club member for information about joining the organization.

The Flathead County Community Band will be featured during the Columbia Falls Lions Club Summer Concert Series this evening (Thursday). The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Don Lawrence Amphitheater in Marantette Park. The Heritage Days kickoff begins with a “warm-up” program by Al and Bonnie Lindborg. They will provide great accordian and vocal renditions. Music from the multi-talented Flathead County Community Band includes a mixture of toe-tapping marches along with their usual condiments of “concert in the park” selections. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are appreciated.

Farmer’s Market in Columbia Falls continues today (Thursday) at Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls to help kick off Heritage Days. Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m. More than 60 vendors will offer produce, arts and crafts and lots of tasty food. Jonathan Jenkins will be featured on the Main Stage. He won the Colgate County Showdown earlier this year. The Flip Wilsons, a Columbia Falls band, perform on the North Stage. They play young cutting-edge music with a rock beat. Lyle Mitchell State Farm is the sponsor of this week’s market.

Friday

The eighth annual Wildcat Athletic Endowment Fund Auction and Barbecue behind the Columbia Bar on Nucleus Avenue takes place Friday, July, 24. The event features live and silent auctions. A mouth-watering dinner, with a nominal $8 cost, is served from 5 to 7 p.m. The live auction begins at 6 p.m.

At 7 p.m. Friday, the Blue Moon NRA Rodeo takes place at the Trumbull Creek Rodeo Grounds behind the Blue Moon Nite Club on the corner of Highways 2 and 40.

Saturday

Part of the proceeds from a Schwan’s fundraiser during Heritage Days weekend in Columbia Falls will benefit Shriners Hospitals. Schwan’s will be in the Glacier Bank parking lot from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 25 selling frozen food and dairy products. The goal is to sell $3,000 in Schwan’s products. Twenty percent of sales will be donated to Shriners Hospitals. The special that day is three 10 1/2-inch pizzas and a half gallon of ice cream for $18.

Firemen’s Breakfast is Saturday, July 25 at the Don Anderson Fire Hall. It begins at 7 a.m.

On First Avenue West at 8 a.m., the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament begins Saturday, July 25. Categories range from 5th- and 6th-grade boys and girls to men’s open.

At 8:30 a.m. July 25, Boogie to the Bank footrace takes off and finishes at Glacier Discovery Square on Nucleus Avenue. The event is sponsored by Glacier Bank.

Heritage Days events take place throughout the day on Saturday July 25. An arts, crafts and food fair is featured all day Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at Discovery Square, inside and outside. All day Saturday the Rocky Mountain Street Machines will have a car show at Glacier Bank. Lunch is offered at the North Valley Senior Center starting at 10 a.m., plus line dancing. The Family Fun Festival takes place on Saturday at Marantette Park. That’s just off U.S. Highway 2. Activities begin after the conclusion of the main parade and include music.

Heritage Days parade begins at noon Saturday, July 25 and runs down Nucleus Avenue.

A Wild Horse Drive will head west on U.S. Highway 2 at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25 from Columbia Heights to the Blue Moon Arena.

At 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, on the Highway 2 bridge, the Lions Club Larchwood Regatta takes place.

Sunday

Marantette Park is the site of a community church service Sunday, July 26 beginning at 9:30 a.m. There will be a “social hour” right after the service.

The ninth annual Wildcat Endowment golf scramble takes place Sunday, July 26 at the Glacier View Golf Course in West Glacier begins at 9 a.m.
