Jack Tillman

| July 9, 2009 11:00 PM

Jack L. Tillman, 75, died July 4, 2009, at his Columbia Falls home, after a few years illness.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glory Tillman; their five sons; Paul and wife Rosaland of Jerome, Idaho; Aaron and wife Daphne of Belt; Forrest and wife Jocelyn of Hungry Horse; Daryl and wife Mary of Columbia Falls; Larry and wife Pattyjo of Corinne, Utah; daughter Jessica and husband Kevin Kasperson of Kalispell; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth and Catherine Tillman in their infancy, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter in her infancy.

He was a dairyman with his own herd of Holstein cows in Nampa and Marsing, Idaho. He was also a millwright for Superior Sawmill in Columbia Falls for 12 years. When the opportunity came for a change, he went to work for the Anaconda Aluminum Plant in Columbia Falls.

When Jack retired he took up gardening herbs for his health. He and his son Paul worked at this project — studying the benefits that the herbs could provide for their allergies to modern medicines.

Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 1946 and served the church well by being a scoutmaster, teacher, and membership records and financial clerk for the Columbia Falls Branch, Ward and Kalispell Stake for more than 28 years. He was a wonderful husband and father to his family and fun to be with. We all loved and respected him very much.

Jack's wishes were that there would be no funeral services. Interment will be at a later date.
